Wake Forest University Physicians and NC Baptist Hospital Join WellPath Network Effective April 1, 2008, Wake Forest University Physicians and North Carolina Baptist Hospital will officially join the WellPath Network. As part of the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC, these providers serve residents over a 26 county region in northwestern North Carolina and southwestern Virginia. NC Baptist Hospital, the primary clinical arm of the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, is an 872-bed teaching hospital that serves as the region’s main tertiary referral center. It’s inpatient facilities include: Brenner Children’s Hospital & Health Services (the only multi-specialty group practice and pediatric hospital in western North Carolina), Hoots Memorial Hospital in Yadkinville, Stokes-Reynolds Memorial Hospital in Danbury, and the Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Facility at Oak Summit. Wake Forest University Physicians outpatient clinics include about 100 medical and surgical specialties or subspecialties. Nearly 150 faculty physicians from WFUP were listed in the most recent edition of “Best Doctors in America,” nearly 90 percent of the total listed in this region. Should you have any questions about accessing services at these new providers to the WellPath network, please contact our office at 919-403-1986.
