Unum Reaches Agreement on Restitution

The Unum Group has notified Hill, Chesson & Woody that you may be receiving a letter from them in the coming weeks.  In short, they have reached a settlement with the New York Attorney General regarding their business practices.  The Unum Group has established a restitution fund and will be providing a payment from this fund to companies that were their clients between January 1, 2002, and December 31, 2005.

Please keep in mind that this settlement is one of more than a dozen that the Attorney General has reached with insurance carriers, and Unum has neither admitted nor denied any wrongdoing or liability in the settlement.
