

		BCBSNC Removes Kidney Disease Management Program Effective May 31, 2007, Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina has terminated its vendored kidney disease management program after three years of service. The Member Health Partnerships – Kidney Disease program was geared toward approximately 100 members that suffered from chronic kidney disease. Because their provider networks now offer such outstanding care for chronic kidney disease, BCBSNC decided to end the vendored program because it no longer offers significant value to the members enrolled within it. BCBSNC is sending direct mail notification to members who are currently participating in the program. Members with acute kidney disease needs will continue to be supported through BCBSNC case management. BCBSNC also will continue to identify members with common co-morbidities of chronic kidney disease and engage them through Member Health Partnerships.
