BCBSNC Changes Dependent Coverage Age to 26

Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC is changing the dependent coverage age to 26 regardless of student status for all insured groups, effective at each group’s renewal date beginning September 1, 2008. BCBSNC will also offer this as a standard option for all ASO groups if they wish to implement it at their renewal on or after September 1.

In addition, BCBSNC will discontinue the student status verification and annual re-certification for all insured groups effective September 1, 2008, upon the group’s renewal.
