UnitedHealthcare PDL Update: Three Drugs Down-Tiered

Effective June 1, 2008, UnitedHealthcare is moving three medications from Tier 3 to Tier 2 on both its Advantage and Traditional Prescription Drug Lists (PDLs), resulting in a lower copayment for members using these medications. These medications include Azor (for hypertension), Combigan (for glaucoma) and Vagifem (for atrophic vaginitis).

In addition, there will be quantity level limits (QLL), quantity duration (QD) and notification programs put in place for several medications with fairly low utilization effective September 1, 2008. Affected members will be notified in early August. Please note: These changes may not apply to all self-funded customers.

Should you have any questions regarding any of these changes, please contact our office at 919-403-1986.
