BCBSNC Announces New Dental Claims System and Website

This month, Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC covered dental members will notice some changes when filing dental claims or searching for plan information online. On July 1, 2008, the dental vendor for BCBSNC, ACS Benefit Services, replaced their claims administration system with a new online dental claims system featuring an entirely new website at www.bcbsnc-dental.com. The new system is intended to provide members enrolled in Dental Blue, Dental Blue Select and Dental Blue for Individuals more flexibility and efficiency in processing dental claims and administering dental benefits.

The new website includes an upgraded login process that will now require members, group administrators and providers to register for most services. First-time visitors will be able to utilize registration help pages to walk them through this process.

With improved functionality, the new Dental website will easily allow:

• Members to check claims status and access benefit information,
  
• Group administrators to download forms from the site and view employee rosters, and
  
• Providers to enter claims and create personalized fee schedules.
  
  

Members logging in to the previous website at www.acsbenefitservices.com will be redirected to the new site at www.bcbsnc-dental.com by following the member access links for BCBSNC. Beginning in early August, the Members Services section at www.bcbsnc.com will feature a link to the new Dental site, and BCBSNC will begin printing the new website address on members’ Dental ID cards later that month.
