UnitedHealthcare Network Terminates Greensboro Radiology Outpatient Services Effective August 1, 2008, Greensboro Radiology has terminated from the UnitedHealthcare network. As a result, all members who are referred to one of the Greensboro area hospital facilities (such as Moses Cone) for radiology services on an outpatient basis will be subject to out-of-network benefits (higher out-of-pocket expenses). However, affected members will still be covered for inpatient services at Greensboro area hospitals and for services rendered at one of the Greensboro Radiology free-standing facilities, known as Diagnostic Radiology & Imaging (DRI) UnitedHealthcare recommends that any affected employees should seek services at one of the DRI facilities or at any of the other radiology providers in the Greensboro area that are in the UHC network (see attached list of providers). Benefits for members treated at DRI free-standing facilities (non-hospital) will continue to pay in-network, meaning less out-of-pocket expenses for your employees. However, unless an agreement can be reached, DRI will terminate from the UHC network effective November 28, 2008. It should be noted that UHC is still in active negotiations with Greensboro Radiology, and we will keep you updated of any changes.
