BCBSNC Changing Blue Points Program in 2009 for Group Members Beginning January 1, 2009, Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC will make several changes to its Blue Points incentive program for group members. As a result, any of your employees that are enrolled in the program have until December 31, 2008, to redeem accumulated points to earn any of the current prizes. From September 2008 through December 2008, participating employees logging their Blue Points at www.bcbsnc.com will see messages notifying them that the program will be changing and that current points will not carry over on January 1, 2009. The changes to the BCBSNC Blue Points program will allow your employees more opportunities to earn rewards while getting in shape and living a healthier life. Enrolled employees will also be able to choose from an all-new selection of rewards, including gift cards from popular retailers. These changes will not affect participating members of BCBSNC individual plans (Blue Advantage, Blue Options HSA for Individuals), as they will continue with the current Blue Points program. However, based on the success of the new program with group members, BCBSNC may choose to extend the new program to individual members at a later date.
