UnitedHealthcare to Issue New Medical ID Cards December 1

Beginning December 1, 2008, UnitedHealthcare will issue new medical ID cards to all members. The new card incorporates suggestions from physicians, pharmacists, consumers and employers and also conforms to state mandates and national Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange industry card standards.

The new ID cards will include the following features and benefits:

  • Durable construction
  • Compliant with state and regulatory mandates and the National Council for Prescription Drug Programs
  • Simpler and clearer card for easy photocopying and readability
  • Magnetic coded member data for easy information transfer
  • Identifies member by member number and issuer number
