CIGNA to Drop ECU Physicians from Network

CIGNA Healthcare is notifying members that ECU Physicians will be terminated from CIGNA’s provider network, effective December 31, 2007. Because of this, all non-emergency services provided by ECU Physicians will be considered out-of-network for CIGNA members.

At this time, both parties are continuing negotiations in the hopes that an agreement can be reached before the end of the year. We will notify you in the event of any change in negotiation status.

Should you feel the absence of ECU Physicians from the CIGNA network will infringe upon your employees’ ability to access proper care, or if you have other concerns about disruption of services, please contact our office at 919-403-1986.
