At Hill, Chesson & Woody, we are celebrating a significant addition to our family of clients with the agreement of Strickland Insurance Group, Inc., to join the fold.  Based in Goldsboro, NC, SIG is one of the largest commercial insurance retailers in the state, incorporating American Claims Service, Atlantic Casualty Insurance Company, and Strickland Insurance Brokers.  Its roots can be traced back to 1969 when it started as a retail agency and a wholesale agency.  Today, SIB has an insurance product line that includes Commercial Auto, Commercial General Liability, Inland Marine and Commercial Property sold exclusively through 71 wholesale agents.

SIG-owned companies are projected to write in excess of $143 million in premium in 2006.  More is expected in the near future as they prepare to form the Coastal Casualty Insurance Company to take aim at the North Carolina non-standard auto insurance arena.  With this venture, they will face considerable human resource challenges; but HCW will be prepared to help them meet their benefit needs as they continue to move forward.
