UnitedHealthcare Network Terminates Raleigh Neurology Imaging Facility
Effective June 15, 2009, Raleigh Neurology Imaging is terminating from the UnitedHealthcare network. As a result, all members who are referred to Raleigh Neurology Imaging for MRI or other imaging services will be subject to out-of-network benefits (higher out-of-pocket expenses). NOTE: This change only affects patients using the imaging facility and does not involve the physicians at Raleigh Neurological Associates, P.A., who will remain participating providers of the UnitedHealthcare network.
UnitedHealthcare recommends that any affected employees should seek services at any of the other free-standing MRI centers located in Wake County that operate in the UHC network (see list of providers by clicking here) or seek imaging treatment at a participating hospital. Affected employees may also find a participating provider by contacting UHC Customer Care at the telephone number listed on their ID card, or go to the Physician or Facility Directory online at myuhc.com, where they can search by location, facility name or by quality and efficiency standards.
If any of your employees or their dependents are currently receiving care from Raleigh Neurology Imaging for an ongoing special condition (pregnancy, acute or terminal illness, etc.), they may be able to continue their course of care at in-network levels through UHC’s continuation of care benefits. These employees are being notified via mail by UHC and may submit a continuation of care application within 45 days of the notification in order to be eligible for continued coverage. Covered employees may obtain a continuation of care application by calling UHC Customer Care at the telephone number on listed on their ID card.
