UnitedHealthcare to Make PDL Changes for 2010 Effective January 1, 2010, UnitedHealthcare will change the tiers of several medications on their Advantage and Traditional Prescription Drug Lists (PDLs), and update the status for other medications regarding exclusions, multiple copays, and supply limits. In addition, UHC will be updating the status of various medications on its ProgressionRx step therapy program, and 13 medications are being added to a new Designated Pharmacy program that motivates members to use lower-tiered alternatives to specific Tier 3 drugs. For a complete summary of these changes, please review the links below: Please note that, as of this update, UHC is moving from three scheduled PDL changes a year to just two. The January 1, 2010, PDL changes represent a small percentage of all prescriptions (only five medications in the top 100), but creates significant value for all UHC members.
