WellPath Moving Pharmacy Benefit Management to Medco

Effective January 1, 2010, WellPath is expanding its relationship with Medco to include pharmacy administration for all member groups. Medco is one of the largest pharmacy benefit providers in the U.S., and their mail-order services consistently rank among the best in the industry.

WellPath is working with Medco to provide a smooth transition over the next several months, ensuring that you and your employees are properly informed of all relevant changes. WellPath expects very little disruption, and will work with Medco to transfer open refills on mail-order and specialty prescriptions.

WellPath will mail a general announcement to all subscribers on October 1, and then follow up with a focused mailing to specific members on November 1 regarding mail-order and specialty pharmaceutical transition. Then, on December 1, WellPath will begin a member transition mailing campaign complete with new ID cards and forms with clear instructions. While all members will receive new cards, all current ID numbers will remain the same, as will the pharmacy customer service phone number (printed on the back of the new and old ID cards).
