Local Benefits Consulting Firm Continues Growth With Addition Of Emily Downing
DURHAM, N.C., June 12, 2016 – Hill, Chesson & Woody (HCW), an independent benefits consulting firm, has announced the hiring of Emily Downing as Client Benefits Specialist. In this role, Downing researches and resolves issues and provides support to clients by maintaining eligibility and bill reconciliation. She works to deliver HCW's exceptional client experience to meet clients' needs and ensure client satisfaction.
Downing began at HCW in April as a temporary Receptionist. She quickly outgrew that role, and seeking a new challenge, she came on full time as a Client Benefits Specialist. Prior to joining HCW, she interned with American Green Ventures in Cary, NC.
Prior to that, she partnered with Fellows at the University of Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso, Africa for a short term field study.
Downing attended Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, IL, where she pursued a degree in English and English as a second language (ESL). Although relatively new to the Triangle, she is already involved in the local community as a volunteer in the youth program at Triangle Community Church in Holly Springs. She also does resettlement work with refugees. She resides in Raleigh, NC.
“I have a passion for communicating and advocating on behalf of people who rely on a particular service,” said Downing. “After coming on as a temporary employee, I immediately knew I wanted to continue in a permanent position here. This role at HCW is the perfect fit.”
“We are thrilled to have Emily come on with us in a permanent role,” said Todd Yates, HCW partner and CEO. “Her passion for others and contagious attitude make her a resource for both our employees and our clients!”
