Benefits Consulting Firm Recognized By State Publication For Second Consecutive Year For Family-Friendly Environment
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., Sept. 18, 2014 – Hill, Chesson & Woody (HCW), a health and welfare benefits brokerage and consulting firm that designs, manages and implements employee benefit programs, has announced that the company has been named a winner in Carolina Parent’s 2014 Family-Friendly 50 Awards. Each year, Carolina Parent magazine recognizes 50 companies and organizations for their exemplary dedication to a family-friendly work culture. The publication recognized HCW for the company’s distinctive and extensive policies and programs for its working parents. This is the second consecutive year that HCW has been named a Family-Friendly 50 Award winner.
Among recent changes at HCW are a revamped wellness program that features biometric screenings, health assessments, and flu shot clinics that are open to employees and their families. In addition, the firm offers a health advocate program, which is a concierge hotline that employees can use to manage their personal and family medical issues conveniently.
Encouraging a healthy work-life balance is also an integral part in the HCW culture. HCW offers flextime and a work from home option along with Value Supporting Activities (VSAs), monthly events hosted by HCW’s Culture Club that bring employees together and get them away from their desks for a relaxing, offsite team building project. All of these programs and perks help employees alleviate stress and promote a better work-life balance.
This is the 16th anniversary of the Family-Friendly 50, awarded by Carolina Parenting, which owns Carolina Parent, Charlotte Parent and Piedmont Parent. The magazine’s goal is to honor companies that support and encourage working parents in North Carolina. Carolina Parent revealed the entire list of 2014 Family-Friendly 50 Awards winners in its September issue.
“We’ve been at the forefront of offering family-friendly policies in North Carolina because we know these programs enhance our efforts to recruit and retain quality employees,” said Todd Yates, managing partner at HCW. “It is an honor to be recognized by Carolina Parent for a second year, and we look forward to continuing our commitment to our employees to uphold the family-friendly standards and practices we’ve established.”
