As the Obama era comes to a close, employers are looking ahead to the Trump Administration and trying to anticipate what changes will come down the road that will affect their benefit offerings. In order to evaluate all of the options, stay competitive, and keep costs down, it’s crucial to have a perspective on what the market is doing.

That’s where the NC Healthcare Benefits and Cost Survey can be helpful. Over the past 12 years HCW and CAI have partnered to create the most extensive employee benefit survey in North Carolina. With over 600 organizations polled, this survey reflects North Carolina’s diverse industry base and reflects all segments of our state’s workforce. As the only state-specific benefits survey, this data will enable employers of all sizes and in all industries to compare their benefit package with similarly situated companies in the state. This will allow employers to know where they have areas of strength, where they might want to make improvements, and to design a benefit strategy that is in alignment with their overall corporate strategy – ultimately helping those employers recruit, reward, and retain the best employees.

This year, we are including data on dental and vision plans as well. By participating, you will learn specific details of medical, dental and vision plans such as premium costs, employer contributions, rate increases, and more.

HCW clients have a free pass – we take the survey for them! If you’re an HCW client, simply authorize HCW to take the survey on your behalf. You’ll not only get a free copy of the results, but your consultant uses the data to see where your benefit plan should rank in order to remain competitive and affordable in innovative ways.

Not an HCW client or don’t have a complete file? Not a problem! You can manually enter your plan information through a user-friendly online platform. This process generally takes 30-40 minutes. Participants must start and finish the survey in a single online session and are encouraged to first review the survey questions which may be found here. All of the data collected will provide employers like you with valuable information that can help you better manage your healthcare benefit plan. All participants receive a copy of the results. Additionally, upon participation you can select access to the same personalized plan ranking information HCW clients receive from their consultants, free of charge.
