The Triangle Business Journal recently honored Hill, Chesson & Woody Employee Benefit Services once again as one of the top employers in the Triangle, in its annual Best Places to Work Awards program.  The award recognizes the firm’s achievements in creating a positive work environment that attracts and retains employees through a combination of benefits, working conditions and company culture.

HCW was one of 35 area companies recognized by the TBJ, and placed among the top 10 in the small businesses category (50 or fewer employees) based on the strength of its employee evaluations.  This marks the third time over the past six years HCW has won this award, as it also secured the honor in 2005 and 2008.

“It has always been a key initiative of ours to not only market ourselves as a destination employer, but also to engage our employees in a way that makes them feel responsible for that designation,” says partner Skip Woody.  “Our people are the reason for our success, and their contribution to our work environment makes us a better consulting firm for our clients.”

“We can talk about the benefits, our expertise, our client-centric focus, but at the end of the day, it’s our people that make HCW special” says underwriter Amanda Oakes.  “I think one of the reasons our clients love us is because everyone here is dedicated to innovation, and we are always looking for new ways to help our clients.”

All 35 winning companies were profiled in an in-depth special section in Triangle Business Journal’s September 24 edition.
