RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – Hill, Chesson & Woody (HCW), a health and welfare benefits brokerage and consulting firm that designs, manages and implements employee benefit programs, has announced that the firm has been recognized by the American Heart Association as a 2013 Fit-Friendly company of GOLD status. The Fit-Friendly program recognizes employers that support the health of employees and work to create a culture of physical activity and health in the workplace. The GOLD level status is given to companies that fulfill criteria such as offering employees physical activity support, increasing healthy eating options at work and promoting a wellness culture.
HCW was selected as a Fit-Friendly company due to the firm’s wellness initiatives that are dedicated to improving the health of all employees. A few of these initiatives include encouragement of stretching throughout the day, organized company walks, reimbursement for fitness center memberships, a wellness newsletter distributed to employees and clients and a monthly salad bar day.
“We are honored to be recognized as a Fit-Friendly Company by the American Heart Association,” said Todd Yates, managing partner at Hill, Chesson & Woody. “Our wellness team does a great job at promoting a healthy lifestyle in the workplace through various programs, informational pamphlets and a healthy lifestyle reimbursement plan.”
